Titus Sparrow Park Summer Concert Series: Debo Ray (Contemporary R&B)
Every Wednesday evening from June to August, neighbors gather on the lawn to enjoy free live music, family-friendly activities, and a vibrant community atmosphere. Check out the event details below! Pre-show activities start at 5:30pm and music starts at 6:15pm.
About the Artist
Award-winning vocalist Debo Ray has performed on some of the world’s biggest stages, celebrated for a rare versatility that spans R&B, funk, jazz, rock, world music, and opera. Boston Globe critic John Garelick once asked, “What can’t Debo Ray sing?”
A Grammy nominee in 2022 for her work with NEA Jazz Master Terri Lyne Carrington’s band Social Science, Debo has also appeared at the Newport and Monterey Jazz Festivals and in a contemporary opera with the Nashville Symphony Orchestra.
Her music draws from deeply personal experiences, including her Haitian American upbringing, mental health journey, and reflections on love, loss, and resilience. Her storytelling, powerful vocals, and dynamic presence create an unforgettable live experience.
Pre-Show Activity at 5:30 PM: Miss Lauren’s - Learn & Play
Miss Lauren is an early childhood educator and the owner of Miss Lauren’s - Learn & Play, a Boston children’s enrichment program offering movement-based classes and events for young children and families.
Lauren’s programming combines music, movement, sensory play, and hands-on activities designed to encourage creativity, confidence, and connection. Lauren will provide pre-concert family entertainment including sensory tables, bubbles, a stepping stone obstacle course, bean bag and ring toss games, ball activities, and more.
