Titus Sparrow Park offers 15 community garden plots for neighborhood residents.

Plots are assigned based on availability and are reserved for individuals who do not currently hold a plot in another public community garden.

The annual community garden fee is $30 and is due by May 1.

Payment may be made by credit card, ACH, or check. If paying by check, please continue to the payment page—mailing details will be provided during the process. (Make payment here)

For those able to contribute more, the Friends of Titus Sparrow Park kindly requests an additional $70 donation per garden plot to support our ongoing efforts, bringing the total to $100.

Guidelines for Garden Plots

Key Dates

  • March 15 – Garden assignments renews annually, to keep your plot, confirm renewal with the Coordinator

  • May 1 – Payment due

  • June 10 – Unworked plots may be forfeited and reassigned

  • October 30 – All gardens must be cleaned and winterized

Maintence Guidelines

  1. Gardens must be well kept and enhance our park entrances. Keep them planted, weeded, and trash-free for the full one year assignment.

  2. Hoses can be found with the water supply at the end of each garden section; gardeners must provide their own tools.

  3. Keep plants trimmed and within your plot—no spillover into neighboring gardens.

  4. Organic gardening methods are preferred—no chemical weed killers or insecticides. Organic fertilizers, such as those made by Espoma, are encouraged.

  5. Place fall cleanup debris in paper bags beside park trash cans.

  6. Consult the Coordinator before adding fences or structures. Harvest regularly and never pick from another plot.

  7. Pets are not allowed in the gardens.
