Titus Sparrow Park Summer Concert Series: Dub Apocalypse (Reggae/Dub)

Every Wednesday evening from June to August, neighbors gather on the lawn to enjoy free live music, family-friendly activities, and a vibrant community atmosphere. Check out the event details below! Pre-show activities start at 5:30pm and music starts at 6:15pm.

About the Artist

Dub Apocalypse is a Boston-based instrumental dub reggae band known for their heavy grooves, soulful guitar work, and free jazz-infused improvisation. Formed in 2007 by drummer Tommy Benedetti (of John Brown’s Body) and guitarist Johnny Trama, the band features a powerhouse lineup including saxophonist/bassist Timo Shanko, bassist Aaron Bellamy, and guitarist Van Martin. With a signature blend of original compositions and reimagined dub classics, Dub Apocalypse has earned two Boston Music Awards and continues to be a staple of the New England music scene.

Pre-Show Activity at 5:30 PM: Music at the Blissful

Music at the Blissful is an award-winning children’s music experience created by nationally touring musician Evan Haller and is a Boston favorite. Through interactive concerts, videos, and music classes for babies, toddlers, and young children, Evan creates joyful experiences that support learning, movement, connection, and community.

His music has been described as “the sound of Mr. Rogers sharing a burrito with Koo Kanga Roo,” blending humor, kindness, and creativity into performances that engage the whole family.

Pre-Show Activity at 5:30 PM: Boston Music Project Instrument Petting Zoo

Join the Boston Music Project for a kid-friendly Instrument Petting Zoo before the concert. Children of all ages can explore real musical instruments with guidance from experienced teaching artists. Come early and let the kids discover their inner musician!

Bring a Blanket & Picnic!

The lawn fills up quickly—bring a blanket or chair, grab takeout from one of the many great local restaurants nearby, and settle in for an evening of live music.
