Chris Rapczynski, Founder & President
Chris, a seasoned construction professional, has over 30 years of experience. Starting as a carpenter in Back Bay, he went on to found Sleeping Dog Properties, Inc. in 1993, named after his loyal black lab.
Since then, he has built Sleeping Dog into one of the region’s leading general contracting firms, delivering more than $500 million in high-end residential, boutique commercial, and hospitality projects. His focus on excellence shows through recruiting top talent, leveraging innovative tools, and maintaining high standards of cleanliness, communication, and competency.
Outside of work, Chris enjoys family life with his wife and three children, coaching soccer, boating, and running, always with his two Portuguese Water Dogs close by.
Joe Boccelli, Director of Construction
A lifelong Massachusetts resident, Joe grew up in a construction family, learning the values of hard work, craftsmanship, and problem-solving early on. With over 20 years of experience, he has delivered more than $150 million in residential and commercial projects and now serves as Sleeping Dog’s Director of Construction.
Joe brings extensive experience across roles from site supervisor and project manager to estimator and designer. Known for his hands-on leadership, he works alongside field staff while balancing strategy and execution, fostering collaboration, respect, and continuous learning.
